. . working for a better tomorrow . . .
Recently, Elite Kitchen and Bath and Express Contracting made
a commitment toward sustainable business practices plus offering
sustainable building materials and techniques to our clients.
We are celebrating our 25th Anniversary by looking toward a positive
and healthy future.
“Currently
businesses are not even obligated to sort out their recyclable
materials of any kind”, say owner Yeheskel Sharbani. “But
for a variety of reasons we, at Elite kitchen and Bath and Express
Contracting, decided to make a concerted effort to do our part
with making our business become more and more green and offering
Green Building Options to our clients. Sometimes things meet a
critical mass and it inspires change. It’s what is happening
in our country, in the world and it is happening in our company.
As a matter of fact, it’s past our 25th Business Anniversary
and we see this is a great way forward toward the next 25 years.”
- Express
Contracting is offering Green Building Audits which will inform
clients about a variety of issues related to Energy Efficiency
and a Healthy Environment. These audits are designed to create
a savings from improving efficiency and reduce or eliminate
toxins that are already within our homes.
- Express
Contracting is now donating salvageable materials and used appliances
to “Build It Green! NYC”; a non-profit organization
collects and selling salvaged building materials. (www.bignyc.org.)
- They are
also donating Kitchen Cabinetry when removed from a home (which
saves demolition and carting fees for the owner and also creates
tax credit for the owner) by working with another non-profit
organization “Green Demolitions” (www.greendemolitions.org)
.
- Elite Kitchen
and Bath and Express Contracting are recycling materials generated
from the office and in the field.
"We’re
eliminating use of disposable paper and plastic eating materials.
We’re not claiming to have a Zero Carbon Footprint or being
100% Green. Part of sustainability is practicality and longevity,
so we’re taking steps one at a time. And that’s what
we’re offering to our clients. No pressure. No browbeating.
Whatever feels comfortable and appropriate to the project is being
offered out of green materials or green mechanical techniques.
It’s an opportunity to think about our children and our
children’s children – contributing to the community
at large."
